Near Hunewill Lake you hit upon Glines Canyon which is a good spot to pop by, and if you came for an overnight stay Paho Campground is a tremendous place to camp. Now, you may assume that's a load but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 12 is good fun; if you come at the right time of year, West Walker River offers some       pleasant whitewater. Whohoo, so much amusing stuff in one place! The Central Sierra Nevada is great! If you need a site to stay Heidelberg Inn is a fine choice. During the warm months at Hunewill Lake highs are regularly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 30's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and night lows through the winter for Hunewill Lake tend to be in the 0's. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Doc and                  Al's Robinson Creek Resort is a splendid local campground, and the peak of Crater Crest can be seen from Hunewill Lake. Not much rainfall falls here at Hunewill Lake; the month with most of the snow is January; the driest month of the year is October. Do stop at West Lake in close proximity to Hunewill Lake, it's a stunning lake, and going for a hike along the Gaylor Lakes Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. This lake is so wonderful.
