    Why not stop by Hughes Lake if you're passing through these parts. At Hughes Lake throughout the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's; the nighttime is fairly colder of course, regularly in the 60's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Hughes Lake during the winter ordinarily drop into the 30's. Yeah, come up here to the Sierra Madre for a great time. Hughes Lake is right by the Warm Springs Trail, needless  
   to say you could also check out Fairmont Reservoir while you're here; it's not far at all. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! Hughes Lake is so good! Stay the night at Hughes Lake Shore Park, and a fine place like Juday Flat here at Hughes Lake is too magnificent to miss.
This lake is so wonderful. A delightful close by hotel is Super 8 Motel - Santa Clarita/Valencia; do take a hike on the Fish Canyon Trail. Hughes Lake is one of the lakes here
 
               in the Sierra Madre.
Be careful coming to the Sierra Madre, you might not ever wanna go home again. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Hughes Lake has to offer, you can camp at South Portal Campground; if you need a location to stay Travelodge Of Santa Clarita is a perfect choice. This lake is so wonderful. A trip to Troedel Spring will fill your soul with glorious feelings; a perfect site is Abrams Canyon. Hughes Lake is a location that is relatively waterless frequently; February is the month that gets the most rain while July is regularly the driest month.
Why not take a refreshing hike along the Burnt Peak Trail, and Hughes Lake is not the only place nearby, Munz Lakes is a nearby lake.

Ah yes... I remember the big Jukebox. At least it was big as compared to me! I remember listening to the Rolling Stones on it as well as others....Yes, I would love to see pics of it. We used to go every year back in the 60's. They had a big jukebox and dance floor, great pool! We had so much fun !...Munz lake was a great place to camp back in the 1060's. My parents use to take us there. Fishing and a nice sized pool on the east end. I think that's all gone now. If anyone out there has pictures, could you please upload to this web site ? I'd sure appreciate it....

Hi, please take a look at the attached photo.  I took it today in La Jolla Canyon, at the water fall (dry now).  Notice that a large rock appears to be loose and or without support.  It looks like the rock is supporting the trail above.  Someone should take a closer look at that rock.  In heavy rain it could come down.  It looks unstable....
