This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Howard Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Boardman Ridge Campground is a perfect site for that, and the Soldier Trail is a fine hiking trail nearby. If you need a location to stay Super 8 Motel - Willits is a great choice, and you can stay the night at Little Doe Campground. Throughout the summer months here at Howard       Lake, high temperatures regularly get into the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are commonly in the 50's while Howard Lake night low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 30's. This lake is one of the great places here in the Klamath Mountains. So many fun things to do here in the Klamath Mountains, too glorious to be true. While you're here at Howard Lake you can take a hike along the Smoke                  Howe Trail, and there are some pleasant whitewater spots on Black Butte River. Be careful coming to Howard Lake, you might not ever wanna go home again. On a fine day at Howard Lake you can take a hike along the French Trail, and at Howard Lake you can spot Little Baldy. All year is a tremendous time in the Klamath Mountains if you love the outdoors. A lake nearby is Hammerhorn Lake. Cherry Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Eel River - Middle Fork.
