If only every spot had this much outdoors cool stuff, what a great world it would be. Bishop-Days Inn is a nice location to get some rest, and the vistas at Devils Postpile National Monument will blow your mind. Get wet paddling on Kings River - Middle Fork; if you came for an overnight stay Intake Campground is a great spot to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Horton Lake gets very little rainfall; the month of January       is the wettest with most of the rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. So much fun stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada, not sufficient time. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Bishop is a magnificent location to spend a night or two, and Gable Lakes is a magnificent lake close by. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on San Joaquin River - South Fork, and camping is available at North Lake Campground. Summer brings                  highs in the 90's to Horton Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 50's with temperatures at Horton Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. This spot, the Central Sierra Nevada, has so much outdoors exciting things. Take a hike on the John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section; hey, Gotta ski right? Mammoth Mountain is a good location to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Kings River Trail; the top of Basin Mountain is easily seen from Horton Lake.
