Get your heart beating on the tremendous whitewater of Silver Creek - South Fork, and some close by water includes Phipps Creek. But wait, there's more fun things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. You can run the rapids of American River - South Fork near Horseshoe Lake, and if the weather is beautiful, you get a tremendous view of McConnell Peak from Horseshoe Lake. Now, you may assume that's loads but there's even more exciting       stuff to do here at Horseshoe Lake. A great site to camp here at Horseshoe Lake is Pleasant Boat-In Campground, and on a nice day you can take a hike along the Highland Trail. If you need a place to stay Granlibakken Lodge and Conference Center is a splendid choice, and you can never get enough of the pleasant skiing at Homewood. Having a pleasant time in the Northern Sierra Nevada is trouble-free. Why not camp at Eagle Falls Campground if you're here at                  Horseshoe Lake, and tremendous skiing awaits you at Sierra at Tahoe. The amount of precipitation that falls at Horseshoe Lake is close to the national average; January is when you get the most snow here; the driest month of the year is July. Horseshoe Lake is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Lakes are such peaceful spots, why not stop by McConnell Lake near Horseshoe Lake; Americas Best Value Inn Tahoe City/Lake Tahoe is a good location to get some rest. If the weather is nice here at Horseshoe Lake, you can go for a hike along the Red Peak Trail, and Lake Zitella is a great lake nearby. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this location. For the duration of the summertime at Horseshoe Lake highs are usually in the 70's, and the nighttime is fairly chillier of course, commonly in the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are commonly in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Horseshoe Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
