Horse Lake is a lake worth visiting. So many exciting things to do in the Southern Cascade Range, not sufficient time. Camping at Deep Creek Campground is always a great experience, and Mount Shasta is a magnificent local ski area. The Southern Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful.
This place, the Southern Cascade Range, has so much outdoors enjoyable things. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Pit River, and while you're here you can take a hike along

| | the Rough and Ready Trail. A pleasant place to camp here at Horse Lake is Circle Seven Guest Ranch; on a fine day you can take a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 17. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff at Horse Lake. There are some perfect whitewater spots on Pit River, and Bare Rock is an attention-grabbing thing to observe if you're here.

and going for a hike along the Coal Mine Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. The high level of rain makes Horse Lake a pretty wet place; January is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month
of the year is July. At Horse Lake throughout the summertime months highs are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 40's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and night lows at Horse Lake throughout the wintertime generally drop into the 20's.
