Summer brings highs in the 80's to Hoover Lakes. All through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 30's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Hoover Lakes. Hoover Lakes is usually a quite arid place; most of the snow falls through January, and October on the other hand is the driest. Going for a hike along the Gaylor Lakes Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region;

| | at Hoover Lakes you can catch a sight of Black Mountain. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Tenaya Creek has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby, and if you need a place to stay Yosemite Gateway Motel is a fine choice. Lakes? Sure, Nutter Lake is in the vicinity, and Hoover Lakes is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Saddlebag Campground is a nice local campground. This lake is so wonderful. This is no place for people who don’t like to
have fun. If the weather is delightful here at Hoover Lakes, you can go for a hike along the John Muir Trail - section 1; a pleasant place to camp here at Hoover Lakes is Sawmill Campground.
