Honeymoon Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Looking for something right next door to Honeymoon Lake? Birchim Lake is in close proximity, and why not camp at Lake Inlet Campground while you're here at Honeymoon Lake. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Mammoth Mountain, and whitewater paddling is splendid on Mono Creek. Whohoo, so many amusing things in one place! The Central Sierra

| | Nevada is great! Visiting Devils Postpile National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and if you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on San Joaquin River - South Fork. Around Honeymoon Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; most of the rain falls during January, and June on the other hand is the driest. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Honeymoon Lake. Through the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 40's. | |

During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Honeymoon Lake. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the Central Sierra Nevada has to offer. A splendid location to camp
here at Honeymoon Lake is Mosquito Flat Campground. You assume that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Granite Park is right here at Honeymoon Lake, and you can have a delightful hiking adventure along the Sherwin Lakes Trail.
Honeymoon Lake is not the only place close by, Golden Lake is a close by lake, and if you want a little side tour, try Pine Creek Pass.

Bear Twin Lakes
Great place to visit! A must see for all families and tourists! The awe and marvel at the beauty of the lake is indescribable! My family had an awsome experience and Joey, Anisa, and Diana ( my children) all would love to go back! Bear Twin Lakes is not a place to miss! Just watch out for the occasional black bear!...

Sabrina Campground
11 miles away I have such fond memories of family trips to Sabrina and camping just up from the lake on the stream side. Don't know what the campground name was or even if it had a name back in thoes days. It was every summer in 1960's. First went there when I was a baby. My parents packed back in several times. Anyway, my Dad died a few months ago and he always said he wanted to go back before he died. I like to think that he is there somewhere fishing that stream by the campground that we all loved so much. Fond Fond memories....
Big Trees Campground
12 miles away The only way to drop a kayak in Kings river is a very long drive (maybe 4-5 hours) to the west side or the range, or lugging it through the wilderness (over the spine). I think I would have to give a gold medal to anyone who would lug a kayak from Big Trees to Kings river. Just a heads-up....
Jackass's Meadows Campground
15 miles away I've been to the campground and it is a great area; however, it is NOT an arid environment as the description says.? It is located at over 7000 feet in a forested area.? In addition, there is NO access to Devils Postpile (or the Mammoth area, as is implied by the lodging links). The campground is located at the end of the road and there is no road pass over the Sierra anywhere in this area. This campground is seasonal and is snowed in completely in the winter. ...
