The John Muir Trail - section 2 is a tremendous hiking trail near Holcomb Lake, and lovely scenery and magnificent skiing is what you get at June Mountain. All year is a magnificent time in the Central Sierra Nevada if you love the outdoors. If you need a site to stay Mammoth Mountain Inn is a good choice, and there's whitewater on San Joaquin River - Middle Fork for all you adrenaline kick people. Heidelberg       Inn is a good location to get some rest, and you can run the rapids of Mono Creek. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting things in the Central Sierra Nevada. Minaret Falls Campground is a nice campground nearby, and there is a magnificent hiking trail close by called the Mammoth Rock Trail. Holcomb Lake is a good spot of typical rain; January is the month that gets the most rain, and June is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful.                  You can catch a sight of Iron Mountain from Holcomb Lake, and skiing at Mammoth Mountain is one of those things you just should do. Now, you may feel that's plenty but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Holcomb Lake. Stay the night at Reds Meadow Campground, and naturally, this is a fine region for folks who like lakes, Beck Lakes is a lake nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Near Holcomb Lake you find the Sherwin Lakes Trail which is a delightful hiking trail, and probably you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Noname Lake is just a very short distance away. The warmest time of the year at Holcomb Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's.
