    Why not stop by Highland Lakes if you're passing through these parts. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Bear Valley is glorious, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Asa Lake. Highland Lakes is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Sierra Nevada. Have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Burnside Lake Trail, and why not visit Lower Highland Dam  
   if you're here.
Take a hike on the Charity Valley Trail, and a magnificent location for whitewater paddling is Stanislaus River - Middle Fork. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back again and again. At Highland Lakes you can catch a sight of Folger Peak; Super 8 Gardnerville is a great location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. This is a fine vicinity for folks who like lakes. Half Moon Lake is
 
               a lake nearby, and in case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Carson River - East Fork.
You should unquestionably dedicate some time to Bear Tree Meadow while you're here at Highland Lakes. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Highland Lakes. Summer night lows sink down to the 40's. Highs throughout the wintertime are typically in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Highland Lakes. Camping at Bloomfield Campground is always a nice experience, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13.
Just can't get enough of Highland Lakes. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Dodge Ridge, and Highland Lakes is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Highland Lakes Campground is a tremendous local campground. Highland Lakes gets lots of water; the month with most of the snow is January while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
