In California there are many beautiful lakes, Highland Lake is one of them. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Highland Lake. The slopes of Homewood are so inviting noone can resist, and if you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Silver Creek - South Fork. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. All through the long summer days at Highland Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's, and

| | throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Highland Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
This lake is so wonderful. Wentworth Springs Campground is a good local campground, and dry warm beds await you at Squaw Valley Lodge. Highland Lake gets a typical amount of yearly rainfall; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow while July | |

is regularly the driest month.
If you love the outdoors you'll love it here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Whitewater paddling is splendid on American River - South Fork; if you need a location to stay Village at Squaw Valley
is a delightful choice. Going for a hike on the Red Peak Trail is always a good adventure, and what would winter be without some skiing at Alpine Meadows. Why not camp at Pleasant Boat-In Campground while you're here at Highland Lake,
and don't leave Highland Lake without first going for a hike along the Loon Lake Trail.
