This lake is so wonderful. Soda Springs is a tremendous local ski area, and High Loch Leven Lake is not the only site nearby, Nancy Lake is a nearby lake. You can run the rapids of Yuba River - South Fork near High Loch Leven Lake. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada. The skiing at Royal Gorge is great, and if       you get bored of High Loch Leven Lake you could also stop at nearby Salmon Lake. High Loch Leven Lake is one of the lakes here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Holiday Inn Express Truckee, Ca is a nice spot to get some rest, and at High Loch Leven Lake you always meet someone from Truckee-Grass Valley. That right there is a lot of cool stuff already but it goes on, the Northern Sierra Nevada has it all. Camping is available at Sterling                  Lake Campground; close by you discover the Salmon Lake Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. Any time is a fine time at High Loch Leven Lake if you adore the outdoors. Camping at Cold Springs Campground is always a magnificent experience; after a long day outdoors Plumpjack Squaw Valley Inn is a splendid place to spend a night or two. A perfect place for whitewater paddling near High Loch Leven Lake is Fordyce Creek, and the Cherry Point Trail is a fine hiking trail close by. At High Loch Leven Lake you can see Cherry Point; there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Loch Leven Trail. High Loch Leven Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. For the period of the summer months at High Loch Leven Lake highs are mostly in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 40's.
