A great deal of rain falls at High Loch Leven Lake; all through January this area sees the most rain while July is generally the driest month. If you're popping by High Loch Leven Lake from Truckee-Grass                  Valley, you won't be the only one. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! The Northern Sierra Nevada is peerless! Cold Springs Campground is a fine local campground; if the weather is gorgeous, you get a nice vista of Cherry Point from High Loch Leven Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Sterling Lake Campground is a delightful campground nearby, and a great nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Truckee, Ca. High Loch Leven Lake is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Yuba River - South Fork, and the Cherry Point Trail is a splendid hiking trail close by. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors cool things the Northern Sierra Nevada has to offer. Royal Gorge is a very popular ski area around here; High Loch Leven Lake is not the only place nearby, Fisher Lake is a nearby lake. This place, High Loch Leven Lake, it simply has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff.
