So many entertaining things to do in the Southern Sierra Nevada, not sufficient time. If you're going to High Lake from Bishop, you won't be the only one. You definitely should adore High Lake. Go for a hike on the Mount Whitney Trail; High Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Locust Grove Campground is a pleasant local campground. Cirque Peak is uncomplicated to spot from       High Lake, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Frontier Motel is a great place to spend a night or two. This place, the Southern Sierra Nevada, has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Places like Big Cottonwood Meadows are magnificent to have a look at, and if you came to camp Tuttle Creek Campground is a wonderful place to do that. High Lake is typically a relatively dry site; through January this area sees the most rain; October is when it's the driest.                  This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Kern River is so much fun, and Army Pass is in the vicinity, and is a perfect spot. The Southern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. High Lake is not the only location nearby, Chicken Spring Lake is a nearby lake, and a glorious close by hotel is Comfort Inn Lone Pine. During the summertime at High Lake highs are typically in the 90's with night lows in the 60's.
