So much enjoyable stuff in the neighborhood of High Lake, absolutely remarkable. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Frontier Motel, and lots of people from Bishop come here. Yeah, come up here to the Southern Sierra Nevada for a delightful time. Army Pass is a good spot to stop by near High Lake; if you come at the right time of year, Kern River offers some brilliant whitewater. This lake       is so wonderful. Comfort Inn Lone Pine is a glorious place to get some rest; Locust Grove Campground is a brilliant campground nearby. Be careful coming to the Southern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever want to go home again. You could also check out Cirque Lake if you're here at High Lake; it's close by, and a good location like Big Cottonwood Meadows here at High Lake is too glorious to miss. Cirque Peak is simple to spot from High Lake, and High Lake                  is not the only place nearby, Long Lake is a nearby lake. This lake is so wonderful. Tuttle Creek Campground is a good local campground, and there are perfect spots to explore along the Mount Whitney Trail. Throughout the summer months highs here at High Lake get into the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's with temperatures at High Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.
