High Emigrant Lake is located in the Central Sierra Nevada. High Emigrant Lake is a delightful place to visit for more than one day, Leavitt Meadows Campground is a delightful place to camp nearby. Do check out Middle Emigrant Dam if you're here at High Emigrant Lake; a lake nearby is Leavitt Lake. Dorothy Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit, and Emigrant Pass is a glorious spot |

to pop by. That right there is plenty already, but it carries on; High Emigrant Lake has it all. A pleasant tour to Grizzly Meadow is a tremendous way to spend an afternoon.

High Emigrant Lake and the surrounding area is the most beautiful place I believe I have ever visited. I went in late July and there were still snow patches on the mountains. I swam in the lake and it was FREEZING, but refreshing as we stopped by the lake on day 3 out of 7 on our backpacking trip. It is difficult to get to this lake, but it is worth it. I will go back one day. I would live there if I could. The surrounding lakes are nice too. Its a very calming atmosphere on a nice day and there are basically no mosquitoes which is a BIG plus! It is a beautiful place. Go there!
