Custom Search     High Emigrant Lake     I went and was swarmed by literally thousands of mosquitoes. Says Hiker High Emigrant Lake and the surrounding area is the most beautiful place I believe I have ever visited. I went in late July and there were still snow patches on the mountains. I swam in the lake and it was FREEZING, but refreshing as we stopped by the lake on day 3 out of 7 on our backpacking trip. It is difficult to get to this lake, but it is worth it. I will go back one day. I would live there if I could. The surrounding lakes are nice too. Its a very calming atmosphere on a nice day and there are basically no mosquitoes which is a BIG plus!
