High Emigrant Lake
 | 17 miles away 1 PHOTO I went and was swarmed by literally thousands of mosquitoes.... High Emigrant Lake and the surrounding area is the most beautiful place I believe I have ever visited. I went in late July and there were still snow patches on the mountains. I swam in the lake and it was FREEZING, but refreshing as we stopped by the lake on day 3 out of 7 on our backpacking trip. It is difficult to get to this lake, but it is worth it. I will go back one day. I would live there if I could. The surrounding lakes are nice too. Its a very calming atmosphere on a nice day and there are basically no mosquitoes which is a BIG plus! It is a beautiful place. Go there!... |

Badger Pass
 | 17 miles away Badger Pass is the perfect place to learn to ski or snowboard. It has a really long bunny slope, and all the other trails are pretty easy too. | 18 miles away The pools are a sacred historical Cliff Diving spot more than anything else. The diving area is neglected and needs a cement platform and better egress to prevent slips. NO GLASS pack your trash! JB... |
