Yeah, come up here to the Northern Sierra Nevada for a magnificent time. Near Herring Reservoir you find the Lafayette Ridge Trail which is a great hiking trail, and if you're here you can play some golf at Nevada County Country Club. This lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing water close by, Gold Run is a stream you can go to while here, and the South Yuba Trail is a great hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful. Camping | |

is available at Faucherie - Tahoe National Forest, and after a long day outdoors Piety Hill Cottages is a perfect place to spend a night or two.
So much entertaining stuff to do at Herring Reservoir, so little time. Do stop at
Deer Creek Reservoir right next door to Herring Reservoir, it's a charming lake, and Eagle Ravine is a magnificent place to spend some time. Herring Reservoir sees pretty high levels of precipitation; during the month of January you
get the most rain around here, and July is when it's the driest. There is a great hiking trail close to Herring Reservoir called the Humbug Trail; lots of people from Truckee-Grass Valley come here.
Herring Reservoir is located
in the Northern Sierra Nevada. During the days of summer at Herring Reservoir temperatures are frequently in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are frequently in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Herring Reservoir.
