Herring Reservoir is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. These mountains rock, just explore all the exciting things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. You'll stumble on a scenic lake called Banner Reservoir near Herring Reservoir, and going for a hike on the Humbug Trail is always a wonderful adventure. A round of golf at nearby Nevada County Country Club is a glorious way to kill some time, and Eagle Ravine is another nice place to stop by nearby.

| | A great deal of rainfall falls at Herring Reservoir; most of the rain falls during January; July is when it's the driest.
This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Nevada City Inn, and Yuba River - South Fork is a good whitewater spot nearby. If you need a location to stay Piety Hill Cottages is a tremendous choice, and camping is available at Faucherie - Tahoe National Forest. This lake is so wonderful. What a place this is for outdoors people. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Yuba River - South Fork, and close by you locate
the South Yuba Trail which is a good hiking trail. You absolutely should like the Northern Sierra Nevada. If you're stopping by Herring Reservoir from Truckee-Grass Valley, you won't be the only one; why not camp at Aspen Group -
Tahoe National Forest since you're here at Herring Reservoir. High temperatures at Herring Reservoir during the months of summer are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime
come with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Herring Reservoir fall into the 20's.
Herring Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
