For the period of the warmest time of the year, highs regularly are in the 70's at Hemlock Lake; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Hemlock Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Grouse Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out, and after a long day outdoors Pine Cone Acre Motel       is a great site to spend a night or two. Get yourself into a kayak and hit American River - South Fork, and camping is available at Pyramid Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Highland Trail is glorious fun, and dry warm beds await you at The Meadow. If you want a pleasant time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Hemlock Lake. Take a hike on the Red Peak Trail, and since you're here, you could also visit picturesque Smith Lake.                  Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Hemlock Lake is right by the Windmiller Trail, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Homewood. Hit the slopes at Sierra at Tahoe in the vicinity, and the peak of Blue Mountain can be observed from Hemlock Lake. All year is a pleasant time in the Northern Sierra Nevada if you have a thing about the outdoors. If you come at the right time of year, Silver Creek - South Fork offers some tremendous whitewater; a good place to camp here at Hemlock Lake is Thirty-nine Mile Campground.
