A pleasant spree to Mumbo Basin is a magnificent way to spend an afternoon; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Upper Seven Lake. It is very arid here at Lake Helen mostly; December is the wettest month with most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. like lakes, Lower Seven Lake is a lake nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Comfort Inn Central is a great location to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Lake Helen that you need to camp here for a while, Castle Lake Campground
is a good spot for that. Throughout the warm days of summer highs here at Lake Helen reach the 80's, and the nighttime is fairly colder of course, generally in the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's; overnight
lows in the 20's for Lake Helen. Don't leave Lake Helen without first checking out Panther Rock, and a glorious vista of lovely Boulder Peak is available. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Trinity River - East Fork, and hiking along the Sisson Calahan National Recreation Trail is splendid fun.
