This lake is so wonderful. A perfect location for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Helen Lake is San Joaquin River - Middle Fork, and going for a hike along the John Muir Trail - section 1 will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Helen Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Sierra Nevada. From a precipitation point of view Helen Lake is a relatively normal spot; January is when you get the most snow here; June on the other hand

| | is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Tenaya Creek close to Helen Lake, and do pop by Spillway Lake, it's a picturesque lake. Summer at Helen Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 30's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Helen Lake temperatures sink to the 0's. So much cool stuff in | |

so much to do here at Helen Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Junction Campground is a wonderful location for that. Head up to June Mountain and strap some skis to your feet, and Mono Pass is close by, and is a wonderful site.
