    The beauty of Heather Lake is reason enough to stop by. Heather Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Log Bridge Campground is a great local campground, and if you're here you can take a hike along the High Sierra Trail. You completely must like the Southern Sierra Nevada. There are some good whitewater spots on Kaweah River; Horse Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth stopping at. Heather Lake really is in the middle of a beautiful  
   outdoors paradise. On a delightful day at Heather Lake you can take a hike along the Atwell Hockett Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Kaweah River - Middle Fork offers some great whitewater.
This lake is so wonderful. Western Holiday Lodge Three Rivers is a perfect place to get some rest, and the Sheep Creek Trail is a nice hiking trail nearby. What a place this is for outdoors folks. Camping at Aspen Hollow - Sequoia and Kings Canyon National
 
               Park is always a glorious experience; dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn At Sequoia National Park. From a precipitation point of view Heather Lake is a rather typical place; the month with most of the rain is January; the driest month of the year is July.
Near Heather Lake you come across fine places like Panther Gap, and Aster Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. Man, is there a heap of fun stuff to do in the Southern Sierra Nevada. You can make out Alta Peak from Heather Lake, and don't leave Heather Lake without first paying a visit to Tokopah Falls. Mehrten Meadow is a delightful site any time of year; a trip to Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park is recommended.
So many entertaining things to do here in the Southern Sierra Nevada, too great to be true. This lake is so wonderful. People from Visalia-Porterville love to come to Heather Lake; since you're here at Heather Lake, checking out Tharps Rock is a must. During the warmest time of the year here at Heather Lake, high temperatures usually get into the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Heather Lake temperatures plunge to the 20's.
This lake is one of the great places here in the Southern Sierra Nevada.
