    Many people like to go to Heather Lake. All the outdoors entertaining stuff in the Klamath Mountains will keep you coming back over and over. Get dripping wet paddling on Salmon River. Having a glorious time at Heather Lake is simple. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Salmon River - North Fork, and if you came for an overnight stay Spring Flat Campground is a tremendous place to camp. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Klamath Mountains. Near Heather Lake you  
   hit upon the Garden Gulch Trail which is a great hiking trail, naturally you could also check out Blueberry Lake if you're here; it's not far at all.
Do set aside some time for Grants Meadows while you're here at Heather Lake, and AmeriHost Inn Yreka is a glorious site to get some rest. For the period of the days of summer, highs regularly are in the 90's at Heather Lake. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. For the period of the
 
               wintertime highs are regularly in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Heather Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Deacon Lee Trail is always a nice adventure, and camping is available at Mule Bridge Campground.
Heather Lake is located in the Klamath Mountains. The high level of precipitation makes Heather Lake a pretty wet spot; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and July is when it's the driest. The Tanners Peak Trail is a great hiking trail near Heather Lake, and from Heather Lake you get a great sight of Bear Wallow Peak.
