The sights at Devils Postpile National Monument will blow your mind, and a brilliant location to camp here at Heart Lake is Mosquito Flat Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Box Lake is a great lake near Heart Lake, and if you need a place to                  stay Mammoth Creek Inn is a great choice. Be careful coming to Heart Lake, you might not ever wanna go home again. On a tremendous day at Heart Lake you can take a hike along the Mammoth Rock Trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Mono Creek. Heart Lake gets very little rain; January is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is June. The summit of Mount Morgan can be seen from Heart Lake. For the duration of the warm days of summer here at Heart Lake, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 70's while overnight lows are generally in the 40's. Highs during the winter are frequently in the 40's; night lows during the wintertime for Heart Lake tend to be in the 20's.
