A lake close by is Goose Lake, and Lavezzola Creek is a great whitewater spot close by. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Royal Gorge, and why not have a look at Snag Lake Dam if you're here. Be careful coming to the Northern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever wanna go back home again. You can run the rapids of Yuba River - North Fork near Haven Lake, and Haven Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day       at, Diablo Campground is a fine local campground. If you go for the outdoors, you'll love Haven Lake. After a long day outdoors Deer Creek Inn is a pleasant spot to spend a night or two. There's so much to do here at Haven Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Snag Lake Campground is a delightful place for that, and Church Meadows is a good site here at Haven Lake. That right there is plenty of entertaining things already but it goes on, the Northern                  Sierra Nevada has it all. From Haven Lake you get a glorious vista of Millis Peak; golf can be played at Graeagle Meadows Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Deer Lake Trail; needless to say Church Creek flows through this area. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Have a great hiking adventure along the Butcher Ranch Trail, obviously you could also go to Snag Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Chalet View Lodge is a magnificent spot to get some rest, and do take a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 15. An average amount of rain falls at Haven Lake; January is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month of the year is July. At Haven Lake throughout the warm months highs are in the 90's while night lows are commonly in the 40's.
