Whitewater paddling is good on Tenaya Creek; brilliant hiking is available along the Gaylor Lakes Trail. High temperatures at Hanging Basket Lake throughout the long summer days are in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Hanging Basket Lake. This lake is       so wonderful. Here at Hanging Basket Lake you can see Fletcher Peak, and the skiing at June Mountain is fine. This lake is so wonderful. Heidelberg Inn is a pleasant place to get some rest; if you came for an overnight stay Tioga Campground is a splendid place to camp. Be careful coming to the Central Sierra Nevada, you might not ever wanna return home again. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Hanging Basket Lake; John Muir Trail - section 2 is a nice                  local trail, and Tenaya Lake Campground is a great campground nearby. That right there is heaps of cool stuff already but it goes on, the Central Sierra Nevada has it all. Nearby lakes? Sure, Townsley Lake is close to Hanging Basket Lake, and there's good hiking along the John Muir Trail - section 1. A tour to Tuolumne Pass is always fun, and if you need a place to stay The Ahwahnee is a fine choice. Now, you may imagine that's loads but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Hanging Basket Lake. You're perhaps keen on lakes, Upper Fletcher Lake is one of those close by, and get drenched paddling on Yosemite Creek.
