Sick Doe Gulch is a magnificent location to pop by nearby, and a lake close by is Little Hancock Lake. Going for a hike on the Tanners Peak Trail is always a splendid adventure, and Salmon River - North Fork is a magnificent whitewater spot nearby. All the outdoors fun things in the Klamath Mountains will keep you coming back many times. Dry warm beds await you at Baymont Inn & Suites Yreka, and       in case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Wooley Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Red Bank Campground while you're here at Hancock Lake, naturally you could also stop at Tobacco Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. The high level of rain makes Hancock Lake a pretty wet place; during the month of December you get the most rain around here; July is when it's the driest. Don't try to stop me,                  cause I'm havin' a delightful time here at Hancock Lake. Near Hancock Lake you discover the Garden Gulch Trail which is a good hiking trail, and if the weather is wonderful, you obtain a pleasant sight of English Peak from Hancock Lake. During the long summer days highs here at Hancock Lake reach the 90's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are usually in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Hancock Lake are in the 30's. Go for a hike on the Deacon Lee Trail, and camping is available at Little North Fork Campground. This lake is so wonderful.
