Summertime highs at Hammil Lake regularly tend to be in the 90's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's while Hammil Lake night low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. On a glorious day at Hammil Lake you can take a hike along the Sherwin Lakes Trail, and a pleasant spot to camp here at       Hammil Lake is McGee Creek RV Park and Campground. But wait, there's more entertaining things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. You can run the rapids of Mono Creek in the vicinity of Hammil Lake, and Way Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit. It is very dry here at Hammil Lake regularly; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is June. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Sierra Nevada. Hammil Lake                  is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Cold Water Campground is a nice local campground. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff at Hammil Lake. After a long day outdoors Bigwood is a delightful spot to spend a night or two, and the John Muir Trail - section 2 is a great hiking trail nearby. A day on the slopes of June Mountain is just what you need; if you haven’t been to Devils Postpile National Monument, you must schedule some time for it while you're here. The snow is good at Mammoth Mountain, and on a delightful day you get a delightful sight of Crystal Crag from Hammil Lake. A pleasant site for whitewater paddling right next door to Hammil Lake is San Joaquin River - Middle Fork; Sky Meadows is a delightful location to check out. If you want a delightful time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Hammil Lake. Snowcreek Resort is a brilliant site to get some rest, and if you get bored of Hammil Lake you could also pop by nearby Emerald Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Near Hammil Lake you locate a golf course called Snowcreek Golf Course; don't leave Hammil Lake without first checking out The Thumb. Having a delightful time in the Central Sierra Nevada is simple.
