There's so much to do here at Half Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hupa Valley Mobile Home and RV is a good location for that, and why not visit nearby Bens Creek if you're here at Half Lake. You get a nice panorama of Burrill Peak from Half Lake; the Horse Ridge National Scenic Trail offers hiking at its best. Not far from Half Lake, you'll hit upon Turtle Lake which is a picturesque lake, and a perfect close by hotel       is Days Inn Arcata CA. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Coast Ranges. If you came to camp Aikens Creek Campground is a pleasant location to do that, and there are other places here than Half Lake, for example Youngs Lake. All through the long summer days at Half Lake highs are regularly in the 70's; the night is rather colder of course, mostly in the 40's. For the duration of the winter this place gets                  highs in the 50's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for Half Lake. That right there is a lot already, but it goes on; Half Lake has it all. In the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Klamath River.
