If the weather is delightful here at Gumboot Lake, you can go for a hike along the Sisson Calahan National Recreation Trail; if you came to camp Gumboat Campground is a fine location to do that. This lake is so wonderful. At Gumboot Lake you don’t see much precipitation; the month with most of the rain is December while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.       This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Gumboot Lake you can take a hike along the Echo Lake Trail, and a great spot for whitewater paddling is Trinity River - East Fork. Mumbo Basin is a delightful place; hey, Gotta ski right? Mount Shasta is a perfect site to do that. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Gumboot Lake, and the nighttime is rather chillier of course, typically in the 40's. Through the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 40's with                  winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Gumboot Lake. In the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sacramento River; the Castle Lake Trail is a great hiking trail close by. A brilliant nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express WEED (MOUNT SHASTA AREA), and camping at Castle Lake Campground is always a brilliant experience. If only every location had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what a great earth it would be.
