     All through the warm months here at Gull Lake, high temperatures frequently reach the 80's while overnight lows are mostly in the 30's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Gull Lake. Camping is available at Gull Lake Campground; Devils Postpile National Monument is a fine local destination. A beautiful lake like Yost Lake close to Gull Lake is a fine spot to have a look at; you'll never forgive yourself  
   if you don’t go skiing at Mammoth Mountain if you're here.
Go for a hike on the John Muir Trail - section 2; a nice location for whitewater paddling is San Joaquin River - Middle Fork. This lake is so wonderful. Very stunning scenery and tremendous skiing is what you get at June Mountain, and Yost Meadow is a good place. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada.
The amount of rainfall that falls at Gull Lake is close to
 
               the national average; through January this area sees the most snow, and the driest month is June. This lake is so wonderful. On a lovely day you get a vista of Reversed Peak from Gull Lake; why not camp at Reverse Creek Campground since you're here at Gull Lake. All the outdoors fun stuff right next door to Gull Lake will keep you coming back many times. Good hiking is available along the Sherwin Lakes Trail, and June Lake is a nice lake close by.
Having a nice time at Gull Lake is simple. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! The Central Sierra Nevada is peerless! Take a side tour to Yost Creek, and after a long day outdoors Heidelberg Inn is a pleasant location to spend a night or two. Now, you may imagine that's loads but there's even more amusing stuff to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Don't leave Gull Lake without first going for a hike along the Mammoth Rock Trail; if you need a location to stay Mammoth Mountain Inn is a magnificent choice.
