Calawee Cove Beach is next to Grouse Lakes if you're in a beach type of mood; hiking is a popular thing to do around Grouse Lakes; Red Peak Trail is a pleasant local trail. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Homewood is great, and brilliant hiking is available along the General Creek Trail. After a long day outdoors Pine Cone Acre Motel is a good spot to spend a night or two, and since       you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Phipps Lake. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Sierra at Tahoe, and do put some time aside to spend at Eagle Falls since you're here at Grouse Lakes. Man, is there lots of entertaining stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. You'll meet a lot of people from Gardnerville Ranchos here. A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Grouse Lakes; January is when you get the most snow here, and                  July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Phipps Pass is a brilliant spot to explore close by; a delightful place for whitewater paddling is Silver Creek - South Fork. Grouse Lakes is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff at Grouse Lakes. You can run the rapids of American River - South Fork close to Grouse Lakes. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Grouse Lakes has to offer, you can camp at Bayview Campground. These mountains rock, just check out all the amusing things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. If you want to hit the beach, Lester Beach is in close proximity, and dry warm beds await you at The Truckee Hotel. Through the warmest time of the year, highs mostly are in the 70's at Grouse Lakes, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Grouse Lakes. You clearly ought to have a thing about the Northern Sierra Nevada.
