If the weather is splendid here at Grouse Creek Lake, you can go for a hike along the Sisson Calahan National Recreation Trail, and there are some great whitewater spots on Trinity River. Throughout the long summer days here at Grouse Creek Lake, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. It is very dried up here at Grouse Creek Lake usually; the month with most of the rain is December; the driest month is July. Meadow Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. This place, Grouse Creek Lake, it definitely has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. Masterson Meadow is a tremendous spot here at Grouse Creek Lake, and if you're here you can
take a hike along the Echo Lake Trail. Grouse Creek Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Pinewood Cove Resort is a great local campground; if you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Central is a great choice. This
lake is so wonderful. Nearby Scott Mountain Summit is a great place to go if you're at Grouse Creek Lake, and Scott Mountain can be seen from Grouse Creek Lake. If you came to camp Scott Mountain Campground is a nice location to do that, and there's whitewater on Coffee Creek for all you adrenaline junkies.

For this particular mountain, the typical route is known as a ''herd path'' which is not much more than a worn, but unmarked trail. Some of the herd paths are easy to follow, others are not. In many instances the hiker will travel down a false herd path and eventually have to correct his/her course via backtracking.
