     Get wet paddling on Mono Creek. If you want a pleasant time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Central Sierra Nevada. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Mammoth Mountain; glide down the rapids of San Joaquin River - South Fork in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Since you're here at Grinnell Lake why not have a look at Hopkins Pass, and a lake nearby is Upper Hopkins Lakes.
For the period of the summertime months here at Grinnell Lake, high
 
   temperatures mostly get into the 70's while nighttime lows are usually in the 40's. For the period of the wintertime highs are usually in the 40's while Grinnell Lake night low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 20's. Do pay a visit to Devils Postpile National Monument while you're here at Grinnell Lake; Mosquito Flat Campground is a nice campground nearby. These mountains rock, just explore all the amusing things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada.  
               At Grinnell Lake you can catch a sight of Mount Crocker; there's fine hiking along the Mammoth Rock Trail.
Gotta ski! June Mountain is a tremendous place to do that, and Mammoth Lakes Travelodge is a pleasant location to get some rest. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. What a place this is for outdoors people. You could also pop by Laurel Lake if you're here at Grinnell Lake; it's close by, and if you need a site to stay Mammoth Creek Inn is a tremendous choice.
Grinnell Lake gets very little precipitation; January is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is June. This lake is so wonderful. Upper McGee Creek Campground is a perfect local campground, and don't leave Grinnell Lake without first going for a hike along the Sherwin Lakes Trail.
