Camping is available at Castle Lake Campground, and you're perhaps into lakes, Upper Gray Rock Lake is one of those close by. Why not camp at Gumboat       Campground while you're here at Gray Rock Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Echo Lake Trail, and Fawn Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth stopping at. Gray Rock Lake gets very little precipitation; December is when you get the most rain here while July is regularly the driest month. At Gray Rock Lake through the long summer days highs are in the 80's while nighttime lows are regularly in the 40's.                  Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Gray Rock Lake fall into the 20's. Take a hike on the Sisson Calahan National Recreation Trail, and skiing at Mount Shasta is one of those things you just must do. If you want a good time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Gray Rock Lake. Have a brilliant hiking adventure along the Castle Lake Trail; a spree to Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is worthwhile.
