Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. Grass Lake is a pleasant location to camp, Upper McGee Creek Campground is a pleasant location, and nearby you hit upon the Sherwin Lakes Trail which is a great hiking trail. Do pop by Big McGee Lake near Grass Lake, it's a beautiful lake, and the peak of Mount Crocker can be distinguished from Grass Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Sierra Nevada. This       lake is so wonderful. Looking for a good trip? Devils Postpile National Monument is quite close to Grass Lake, and whitewater paddling is great on San Joaquin River - South Fork. This lake is so wonderful. Hit the slopes at June Mountain close by. All the outdoors cool stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back over and over. Stay the night at Lake Crowley Campground, and if you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling                  on Mono Creek. At Grass Lake you don’t see much precipitation; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and June is when it's the driest. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Sierra Nevada. Going for a hike on the Mammoth Rock Trail is always a glorious adventure, and if you need a location to stay Mammoth Creek Inn is a nice choice. Dry warm beds await you at Mammoth Lakes Travelodge, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Mammoth Mountain. Throughout the summertime months highs here at Grass Lake reach the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's.
