You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Northern Sierra Nevada has to offer. Get covered with water paddling on Carson River - East Fork, and a round of golf at nearby Tahoe Paradise Golf Course is a pleasant way to kill some time. Through the days of summer at Grass Lake temperatures are frequently in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's
while the cold winter nights at Grass Lake are in the 10's. Man, is there a load of enjoyable stuff to do next to Grass Lake. A lake close by is Scotts Lake, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Grass Lake; Hawley Grade Trail is a good local trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Pistantes Coyote Den is a splendid site to get some rest, and skiing at Heavenly is one of those things you just should do. But wait, there's more fun things to do in the Northern

Sierra Nevada. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Take a hike on the Burnside Lake Trail; Grass Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Kit Carson Campground is a great place to camp nearby.
From a rainfall point of view Grass Lake is a quite common spot; the wettest month of the year is frequently January, that's the one that snows the most while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Mokelumne River - North Fork, and since you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Gardnerville Ranchos. Free Meadows is a tremendous place, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Kirkwood while you're here.
Having a great time in the Northern Sierra Nevada is trouble-free. If you desire a little side visit, try Luther Pass, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Charity Valley Trail. Grass Lake is not the only location nearby, Scotts Lake is a nearby lake, and Alpine Campground is a fine local campground. A glorious close by hotel is Harvest Inn-St Helena, Napa Valley, and here at Grass Lake you can make out Thompson Peak.
