     California has many beautiful lakes and Granite Lake is one of them. And that's not all you can do here at Granite Lake. Everybody close by loves skiing at Dodge Ridge, and whitewater paddling is great on Cherry Creek - West Fork. Now, you may think that's plenty but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Granite Lake is a quite wet place usually with a good deal of precipitation; January is the wettest month with most snow, and  
   July is when it's the driest.
And if that's not sufficient there's heaps more fun things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. A pretty lake like Chewing Gum Lake near Granite Lake is a great spot to stop at. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Granite Lake has to offer, you can camp at Dardanelles Campground. Granite Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Groundhog Meadow is a perfect site to stretch your legs a bit, and
 
               a delightful nearby hotel is Pinecrest Chalet.
This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Stanislaus River - Middle Fork, and Granite Lake is a good site to camp, Herring Creek Campground is a good site. After a long day outdoors Evergreen Lodge Yosemite is a pleasant place to spend a night or two, and not far from Granite Lake you obtain some delightful water scenery at Y Meadow Dam. Through the summertime, highs generally are in the 60's at Granite Lake. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Granite Lake.
