     There's just no way someone can get bored here at Granite Lake. Groundhog Meadow is a beautiful place any time of year; a lake close by is Y Meadows Reservoir. Y Meadow Dam is a wonderful location in the neighborhood of Granite Lake; a tremendous site to camp here at Granite Lake is Herring Creek Campground. A lot of precipitation falls at Granite Lake; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow, and July on the other hand is the driest.
This
 
   lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Stanislaus River - Middle Fork, unsurprisingly you could also take a look at Chewing Gum Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. Throughout the summertime highs here at Granite Lake reach the 60's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's. Highs all through the wintertime  
               are regularly in the 30's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for Granite Lake tend to be in the 10's.
So many entertaining things to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada, too magnificent to be true. Man, is there lots of amusing things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. If you need a site to stay Americas Best Value Inn Yosemite Westgate Lodge is a wonderful choice; Dodge Ridge is a great local ski area. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Cherry Creek - West Fork for all you thrill seekers, and camping is available at Dardanelles Campground.
