Be careful coming to the Central Sierra Nevada, you might not ever wanna return home again. If you get bored of Golden Lake, you could also explore close by Grass Lake, and float down the rapids of San Joaquin River - South Fork in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Mono Creek is so much fun, and everybody close by loves skiing at Mammoth Mountain.       Camping is available at Upper McGee Creek Campground, and the views at Devils Postpile National Monument will blow your mind. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at Golden Lake. Gotta ski! June Mountain is a great place to do that, and Pioneer Basin is a good location. That right there is lots of cool things already but it goes on, the Central Sierra Nevada has it all. Hiking along the Mammoth Rock Trail is nice fun, and close by Hopkins                  Pass is a wonderful place to go. It is very waterless here at Golden Lake regularly; most of the rain falls during January, and the driest month of the year is June. Through the months of summer highs here at Golden Lake reach the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 40's. Highs during the winter are ordinarily in the 40's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Golden Lake temperatures fall to the 20's. If you need a location to stay Mammoth Creek Inn is a wonderful choice, and Mount Crocker is wonderful and can be seen from here. This lake is so wonderful. Crocker Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore; do take a hike on the Sherwin Lakes Trail. Golden Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Sierra Nevada.
