This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Mount Whitney Trail is always a tremendous adventure; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Slim Lake. A great site in the vicinity of Golden Bear Lake is Junction Pass, and close by you stumble on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 11 which is a tremendous hiking trail. Now, you may think that's lots but there's even more amusing stuff to do here in the Southern Sierra

| | Nevada. Mount Bradley is easy to spot from Golden Bear Lake; if you came for an overnight stay Fort Independence Campground is a great place to camp. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! The Southern Sierra Nevada is excellent! Best Western Frontier Motel is a great place to get some rest. Bear Lake; the month with most of the rain is January, and October is when it's the driest. The Southern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. Through the warmest time of the year at Golden Bear Lake highs are usually in
the 90's with night lows in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's, and nighttime lows at Golden Bear Lake during the winter regularly plunge into the 20's. There's just no way someone can get bored here
at Golden Bear Lake. Do set aside some time for Center Basin since you're here at Golden Bear Lake. Lakes? Sure, Robinson Lake is close by.

There are a number of activities available right out of Aberdeen, fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, prospecting, or rock hounding with many dirt roads, and trails that one could spend the day on.
