Get your heart beating on the glorious whitewater of Lavezzola Creek, and what would winter be without some skiing at Royal Gorge. Gold Lake is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Snag Lake Campground is a wonderful campground nearby; Gold Lake is not the only site close by, Squaw Lake is a close by lake. So many enjoyable       things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada, not enough time. Graeagle Meadows Golf Course is a great golf course nearby, and don't leave Gold Lake without first going for a hike along the Deer Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Upper Salmon Lake Dam is a picturesque place next to Gold Lake, and you can stay the night at Diablo Campground. High temperatures at Gold Lake during the warm days of summer are in the 90's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's typically                  in the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Gold Lake fall into the 20's. There's whitewater on Yuba River - North Fork for all you adrenaline junkies, and Deer Creek Inn is a pleasant place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. You could also go to Little Gold Lake if you're here at Gold Lake; it's nearby, and a glorious close by hotel is Chalet View Lodge. Don’t forget to check out Lakes Basin if you're here at Gold Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 15. All the outdoors fun stuff in the vicinity of Gold Lake will keep you coming back repeatedly. Whohoo, so many amusing things in one place! Gold Lake is peerless! Frazier Falls is a striking location to stop at while you're at Gold Lake, and splendid hiking is available along the Butcher Ranch Trail.
