During your spree to Glacier Lake you'll meet some people from Truckee-Grass Valley for sure, and picturesque scenery and good skiing is what you get at Royal Gorge. All year is a good time in the Northern Sierra Nevada if you fancy the outdoors. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Glacier Lake has to offer, you can camp at Grouse Ridge Campground, and skiing       at Soda Springs is one of those things you just ought to do. Stay the night at Canyon Creek Campground; after a long day outdoors Deer Creek Inn is a great location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Five Lakes Basin is a striking spot any time of year; you can have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Crooked Lakes Trail. Glacier Lake is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. So many cool things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada,                  too good to be true. On a lovely day you get a panorama of Black Buttes from Glacier Lake, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Baltimore Lake. High temperatures at Glacier Lake during the long summer days are in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's; overnight lows at Glacier Lake through the winter generally fall into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Grouse Ridge Trail, and Yuba River - South Fork has a glorious whitewater paddling spot close by. All the water falling down from the sky makes Glacier Lake a wet place; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up.
