Good hiking is available along the Glacier Lakes Trail; beautiful scenery and fine skiing is what you get at Royal Gorge. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Soda Springs if you're here; the Crooked Lakes Trail offers hiking at its best. Throughout the summertime months at Glacier Lake highs are regularly in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 40's. All through the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 40's, and       night lows at Glacier Lake during the winter regularly descend into the 20's. And that's not all the things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. If you get bored of Glacier Lake, you could also check out close by Beyers Lakes; soar down the rapids of Fordyce Creek in a kayak. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. Deer Creek Inn is a wonderful place to get some rest. If you came for an overnight stay Grouse Ridge Campground is a great                  place to camp; there's good hiking along the Grouse Ridge Trail. Yep, outdoors exciting things to do are really abundant here at Glacier Lake. Why not camp at Canyon Creek Campground if you're here at Glacier Lake, and at Glacier Lake you always meet someone from Truckee-Grass Valley. This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is French Lake; a pleasant trip to Five Lakes Basin is a good way to spend an afternoon. Glacier Lake gets lots of water; January is when you get the most rain here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada.
