California has many beautiful lakes and Givens Lake is one of them. And if that's not sufficient there's lots more fun stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Going for a hike on the Red Mountain Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and Givens Lake is a nice location to visit for more than one day, Bolsillo Campground is a nice location to camp nearby. There are good sites to look at along the Mammoth Rock Trail; the summit of Mount Givens can be observed from

| | Givens Lake. Now, you may imagine that's a lot but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Don't leave Givens Lake without first going for a hike along the Sherwin Lakes Trail.

at Givens Lake. Juniper Springs Resort is a tremendous spot to get some rest; you can stay the night at Portal Forebay Campground.
Through the warm days of summer at Givens Lake highs are usually in the 70's while nighttime lows
are typically in the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Givens Lake. Givens Lake is generally a relatively dry place; most of the rain falls all through
January; the driest of the months is June. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on San Joaquin River - South Fork, and scenic scenery and magnificent skiing is what you get at Sierra Summit.
