Near Gilman Lake you locate glorious locations like Glines Canyon. Looking for something near Gilman Lake? Nutter Lake is close at hand; Black Mountain is a peak you can make out from Gilman Lake. Summertime highs at Gilman Lake usually tend to be in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's with temperatures at Gilman Lake dipping down into the 0's during       winter nights. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Sierra Nevada. There's some flowing water nearby, East Fork Green Creek is a stream you can pop by during your stay, and Gilman Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Saddlebag Campground is a perfect local campground. So many entertaining things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada, not enough time. Good hiking is available along the John Muir Trail - section 2, and possibly you're                  looking for close by lakes? Sure, Hoover Lakes is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 12, and a fine place to camp here at Gilman Lake is Sawmill Campground. If only every place had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what a great earth it would be. Don't leave Gilman Lake without first going for a hike along the Gaylor Lakes Trail, and if you need a spot to stay Yosemite Gateway Motel is a splendid choice. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Get covered with water paddling on Tenaya Creek, and Heidelberg Inn is a good place to get some rest.
