Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! The Northern Sierra Nevada is great! Homewood has delightful slopes and a friendly staff, and delightful hiking is available along the Highland Trail. Stay the night at Pyramid Campground, and not far from Gertrude Lake you'll hit upon Tyler Lake which is a lovely lake. If you would like       a little side visit, try Rockbound Pass, and you can go for a hike on the Windmiller Trail. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the Northern Sierra Nevada has to offer. There are other places here than Gertrude Lake, for example Umpa Lake, and Thirty-nine Mile Campground is a tremendous campground nearby. Just can't get enough of Gertrude Lake. After a long day outdoors Pine Cone Acre Motel is a perfect location to spend a night or two,                  and going for a hike on the Red Peak Trail is always a magnificent adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Willow Flat is a wonderful spot here at Gertrude Lake; from Gertrude Lake you obtain a fine panorama of Blue Mountain. So much cool stuff to do at Gertrude Lake, so little time. If you need a place to stay The Meadow is a fine choice. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on American River - South Fork for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Sierra at Tahoe. Gertrude Lake is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Through the summertime at Gertrude Lake highs are regularly in the 70's with overnight lows in the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are generally in the 40's while Gertrude Lake night low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's.
