Head up to Mammoth Mountain and strap some skis to your feet, and one of the main marks of the surroundings of Gem Lakes is Mount Abbot. This lake is so wonderful. Mammoth Creek Inn is a fine location to get some rest, and whitewater paddling is great on Mono Creek. Have a brilliant hiking adventure along the Sherwin Lakes Trail, and a lake close by is Chickenfoot Lake. What a location this       is for outdoors people. Stay the night at Mosquito Flat Campground, and Morgan Pass is beyond doubt a delightful spot to explore. This spot, the Central Sierra Nevada, has so much outdoors fun things. Gem Lakes is not the only site nearby, Treasure Lakes is a nearby lake. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Gem Lakes has to offer, you can camp at Lake Inlet Campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Mammoth Lakes Travelodge                  is a good choice; in the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on San Joaquin River - South Fork. At Gem Lakes you don’t see much rainfall; January is when you get the most rain here; the driest of the months is June. If you go for the outdoors you'll go for it here in the Central Sierra Nevada. For the period of the summer at Gem Lakes temperatures are usually in the 70's with overnight lows in the 40's.
