Gem Lake is a nice lake to visit. Don’t forget to stop by Spooky Meadow while you're here at Gem Lake. From a precipitation point of view Gem Lake is a quite normal place; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is June. This lake is so wonderful. If you wish for a little side trip, try Agnew Pass, and Grant Lake Marina-campground is a magnificent local campground. But wait, there's more to do right next door

| | to Gem Lake. Crest Creek is a picturesque stream that is worth a visit; the John Muir Trail - section 2 offers hiking at its best. Why not camp at Trailer Park Campground since you're here at Gem Lake, and Gem Lake is right by the Gaylor Lakes Trail. So much exciting stuff to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada, too wonderful to be true. some pleasant whitewater. All year is a tremendous time in the Central Sierra Nevada if you go for the outdoors. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Mammoth Mountain, and after a long day outdoors Snowbird
Condos at Mammoths Canyon Lodge is a glorious spot to spend a night or two. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Gem Lake. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Through the winter the highs are typically
in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Gem Lake drop into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Mammoth Rock Trail. Lakes are tremendous; Clark Lakes is a lake that's in the
vicinity of Gem Lake. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. You're probably into lakes, Billy Lake is one of those close by, and June Mountain is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood.
