Gallison Lake

 
 I was told that it was named after a man called Thaxter Morgan Gallison from Vanceboro,Maine who built a 'camp' on its shore around the 1790's. Says Steve Gallison

A tremendous 32-mile-from-beginning-to-end whitewater segment on Tuolumne River is close by. This, the Tioga Road Bridge to Hetch Hetchy Reservoir portion, is
    a category IV-V+. Don't go paddling on this segment of Tuolumne River unless you think your paddling skills are very tremendous. The 1-mile-long Super Slide section is a category V section of whitewater on Tenaya Creek.
