French Meadows Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Yeah, come up here to the Northern Sierra Nevada for a wonderful time. Go for a hike on the Hunters Trail, and why not a little side trip to Little Duncan Creek. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at French Meadows Reservoir. There are some fine whitewater spots on Rubicon River, and you can stay the night at       Dewey Campground. All the outdoors fun things in the Northern Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back again and again. Since you're here at French Meadows Reservoir why not stop by Little Duncan Canyon, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Yuba River - South Fork. You'll need more than a day to look at everything French Meadows Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at McGuire Campground, and Always Inn Tahoe                  Bed and Breakfast is a magnificent place to get some rest. The high level of rainfall makes French Meadows Reservoir a reasonably wet spot; the month with most of the rain is January, and the driest of the months is July. Very wonderful water scenery is available at L L Anderson Dam in close proximity to French Meadows Reservoir, and don't leave French Meadows Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Parsley Bar Trail. Summertime highs at French Meadows Reservoir commonly tend to be in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. During the winter highs are mostly in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at French Meadows Reservoir. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Sugar Bowl while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Soda Springs, and dry warm beds await you at Hoyfjellet Lodge. This lake is so wonderful.
