Chalet View Lodge is a delightful site to get some rest, and at French Lake you can see Black Buttes. French Lake is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Soda Springs if you're here. You'll need more than a day to look at everything French Lake has to offer, you can camp at Silver Tip Campground.       This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is glorious on Fordyce Creek; going for a hike on the Glacier Lakes Trail is always a wonderful adventure. This is no site for people who don’t like to have a good time. Paddling on Yuba River - South Fork is so much fun; what would winter be without some skiing at Royal Gorge. So much entertaining stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada, not sufficient time. Five Lakes Basin is a tremendous location to check                  out; nearby you hit upon the Grouse Ridge Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. French Lake is a brilliant place to visit for more than one day, Canyon Creek Campground is a brilliant place to camp nearby. Lakes are great; Weil Lake is a lake that's right next door to French Lake. That right there is a load already, but it carries on; French Lake has it all. After a long day outdoors Deer Creek Inn is a delightful site to spend a night or two; there is a splendid hiking trail close by called the Glacier Lakes Trail. Not far from French Lake, you'll stumble on Echo Lake which is a gorgeous lake, and there are plenty of folks from Truckee-Grass Valley here. For the period of the warm days of summer, highs typically are in the 80's at French Lake while overnight lows are regularly in the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to French Lake.
