Devils Postpile National Monument is a nice local destination here at Francis Lake; you get a perfect panorama of Broken Finger Peak from here. This lake is so wonderful. Soar down the rapids of San Joaquin River - South Fork in a kayak, and you'll come across a scenic lake called Tamarack Lakes. A magnificent location to camp here at Francis Lake is Lake Outlet Campground; a gorgeous lake like       Kenneth Lake is a good place to visit. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! Francis Lake is peerless! Get yourself into a kayak and hit Mono Creek, and there are good sites to explore along the Sherwin Lakes Trail. So much exciting stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada, just mind-blowing. Mammoth Mountain is a very popular ski area nearby, and Mosquito Flat is a nice location here at Francis Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in the                  Central Sierra Nevada. Camping at Lake Inlet Campground is always a wonderful experience; Francis Lake is near Little Lakes Valley which is without doubt worth checking out. Francis Lake gets very little precipitation; throughout January this area sees the most rain, and June is when it's the driest. Summertime highs at Francis Lake typically tend to be in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows through the winter for Francis Lake tend to be in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful.
