California has many beautiful lakes and Francis Lake is one of them. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. A great close by hotel is Plumpjack Squaw Valley Inn, and while you're here you can take a hike along the McKinstry Trail. Francis Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; during January this area sees the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month.

Poison Hole Trail is magnificent fun.
A nice place for whitewater paddling near Francis Lake is Silver Creek - South Fork, and Mineral Springs is a splendid local attraction. And that's not all you can do here at Francis Lake.
In the event that you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on American River - South Fork; you can have a nice hiking adventure along the Loon Lake Trail. Camping is available at Wentworth Springs
Campground; everyone loves Neck Meadow.
This lake is so wonderful. Looking for some flowing water? Try Jerrett Creek; the sight of Chipmunk Bluff is striking. Be careful coming to the Northern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever
want to go home again. If you need a spot to stay Squaw Valley Lodge is a tremendous choice; Francis Lake is not the only place nearby, Berts Lake is a nearby lake. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Francis Lake; through summer nights
temperatures are in the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Francis Lake.
